The Atocha | 2oz Elemetal UHR Silver Round

The 2 oz Elemetal Atocha Silver Round is the first release in the Elemetal Shipwreck Series, a 4-coin Ultra High Relief collection inspired by famous treasure wrecks. This release honors the Spanish treasure galleon Nuestra Señora de Atocha and the coinage recovered from one of history’s best-known maritime discoveries.

Struck by Elemetal Mint, the round features an Ultra High Relief Spanish Cross design inspired by Atocha treasure coinage. A weathered surface treatment gives the round the look of silver recovered from the ocean floor while preserving the detail and depth of the artwork.

The shared reverse features the Shipwreck Series insignia with D, 2, OZ, AG, and 999, representing Dallas, 2 Troy Ounces, silver, and .999 fine silver purity.

Atocha sank in a hurricane near the Florida Keys in 1622 while carrying silver, gold, copper, gems, tobacco, indigo, and other cargo bound for Spain. Much of the wreck was recovered in 1985, helping make Atocha known as The World’s Greatest Shipwreck.
